Dr Richard Barnett graduated in medicine from Sydney University. He then trained in general surgery becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) before studying Plastic Surgery in England at the Mount Vernon and Middlesex Hospitals.
He was Head of the Plastic Surgery and Burns Unit at Royal North Shore Hospital for many years and is now in private practice as a plastic surgeon in Castlecrag in Sydney. At times he has been President of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons, Chairman of the NSW Committee of the RACS and senior examiner in Plastic Surgery for the RACS.
He is currently Chair of the Patient Care Review Committee at North Shore Private Hospital, Chair of the AMOS Fund and Chair of the Australasian Foundation for Plastic Surgery.
