Dr Howard McCormick

Dr Howard McCormick decided to specialise in General Practice a year before he graduated with Honours from Monash University. After internship and residency at the Alfred and Austin Hospitals in Melbourne, he travelled to the UK with his wife Helen on the Trans-Siberian Railway. In London, he obtained his Diploma in Obstetrics, travelled for a year, then returned to practice for 23 years in Traralgon in rural Victoria. He currently lives on Phillip Island, and works in Wonthaggi and Cowes.

Howard achieved his Fellowship of the RACGP in 1981 and a Certificate in Business Studies (Accounting) in 1983. His medical interests include mental health, mentoring and education. He teaches Medical Students and supervises GP Registrars. He was Supervisor of the Year for his local training organisation SGPT (East) in 2011.

As the current Education Director for AMACO Medical Conferences, Howard travels the world as a medical and motivational speaker. With his wife Helen, he has three adult children and two grandchildren. They combine their zest for travel and photography with charity work. They plan to visit 101 countries and support 101 charities around the world by 2020.
